Dress Code
While Huggins Elementary is no longer under a dress code, students must follow the LCISD Student Dress Code.
The theme for 2023-2024 is "oFISHally ready to learn!"
Mondays are your kiddo's time to shine in this year's theme, if they'd like, to show their school spirit! We have a few precious shirt options in our online spirit store that are in this year's theme and by purchasing, you are also supporting Friends of Huggins and our school!
Thursdays are when your Hound can support Roberts Middle School, Leaman Junior High and Fulshear High School by wearing purple. FOH sells a purple "Future Charger" shirt in our online spirit store, as well.
Fridays are for all-things "house colors," or your Hound can wear their field trip shirt, which is also referred to as a "Friday" shirt. These are the shirts that students must wear on their field trips and will be available for presale in our online spirit store soon!
House Colors
Each student is placed into a House, (similar to Harry Potter), during the first week of school or at a pep rally, with each house having its own unique color and represents our core character values. The House Colors are Blue (House of Loyalty), Green (House of Determination), Purple (House of Gratitude), Red (House of Courage), and Yellow (House of Friendship). Students remain in the same House Color for their entire time at Huggins and compete with the other Houses for points. New students will be assigned to a House at the first House Pep Rally at the beginning of school. House Color Days are scheduled throughout the year, so be sure to follow our social media accounts for a heads-up. This is a fun day for students and they can get creative with their apparel! Girls have worn dresses, tutus, knee-high socks, fun headbands, gloves, etc. in their House Colors. Boys have sprayed their hair and worn crazy socks. While FOH doesn't offer a House Color shirt, often times your child's field trip shirt (color-coded by grade) or our future charger shirt (purple) winds up being your child's house color that year. If not, any outfit in their House Color is acceptable and encouraged! In years past, the Huggins PBIS committee has coordinated a House Color t-shirt sale, so stay tuned!
Ordering Spirit Wear
The following can be ordered in our online Spirit Store. Parents are encouraged to wear a Huggins shirt when chaperoning field trips. We also have a Friends of Huggins spirit shirt this year that we are super excited about and encourage any parent, grandparent, volunteer, teacher, student and Huggins supporter to purchase one and show your Huggins pride all year! *Note: All Spirit wear ordered online through our spirit store will be delivered to your child's class.
This year, we are excited to offer:
School Supplies
School supplies can be purchased from the school supply vendor, School Toolbox, through September 30. Simply click on your child's grade level, input the necessary information, and the supplies will be delivered directly to your house! If you'd prefer to purchase your own school supplies, please see the required list by grade below.
Car Rider Line Procedures
If you drop off or pickup your students from school, please follow the car rider rules. The Huggins campus doors will open each morning at 7:15AM. Your student is late if they are not in their classroom by 7:45AM. Dismissal is at 3:10PM. You can anticipate slightly longer line procedures in the mornings and afternoons at the beginning of the school year as everyone learns the correct route, so plan accordingly and join the line early. If everyone works together and follows the correct carline procedures, everything will run smoothy and safely, ensuring your child will get to class on time. We appreciate your cooperation! If you have questions regarding drop off and/or pickup procedures, please contact the Huggins Elementary front office: 281.223.1600.
*Note: The new start time for the 2023-2024 school year is 7:45AM. You are permitted to park and walk your child to their classroom on the first day of school. The new dismissal time for the 2023-2024 school year is 3:10PM.
